Redbeard Round-up: Bike Love Edition

Velo Joy on bike baths.

Our friends at Recycle-A-Bicycle are throwing a fundraiser for the Kids Ride Club, which runs regular rides for kids in New York City. Watch Wadjda, a film about a precocious 10-year-old in Saudi Arabia who is determined to ride a bike despite her family's protests. March 1, 4-7:30pm, Made in NY Film Center @ 30 John St. in DUMBO. Reception with Middle Eastern food follows the screening.

Pivotte, which bills itself as the first line of stylish performance wear for women, launched their Kickstarter. With 26 days to go, they've already raised over half their goal! I love the Desk-to-Date dress -- I could pair it with a red Velocio long-sleeve jersey for Fridays at the shop.

In the world of racing: the Ladies' Tour of Qatar happened the other week! I'm just starting to get pulled into bike racing and I really enjoyed this blog post by racer Chloe Hosking. She talks about how the absence of wind complicated the race.

The Track World Championships are happening in Paris next week, February 18-22; Missy Erickson is riding with Team USA!
